Day 7 Saturday 1 June 2019

OWEN SPRINGS TO STUART McDOULL MEMORIAL RA 284 kms

No change in the weather and still the cold wind which seems to be getting stronger and even though on the side is having some effect on fuel economy. Got into Alice Springs early and were lucky to get a park near Woolworths where we needed a small amount of groceries, then found a Camera Shop as with all the cords we have I had not put the cord in the van that charges Carols camera. Bought a Universal Charger which will be handy as it charges from both 240 volt and 12 volt. The standard charger with Carols camera only charges from 240 volt and the battery must be in the Camera so the new one means we can charge one battery while the Camera is being used.

No weekend would be complete without a trip to Bunnings as the aluminium bar across the Aframe holding the stone guard up broke yesterday do have now fitted a steel one. The previous aluminium one had lasted about 4 years do had done its job.

Tonights camp is a roadside Rest Area on bitumen and by late afternoon there were about 6 vehicles stopped. At this stop Telstra have a Mini Cell with a dish and you put your phone on it and get phone or Internet service.img_3933
