Up early this morning for shower then after breakfast doing an Indigenous Tag A Long Tour to Hunters Creek with Brian Lees who has lived here for most of his life. Car started OK and first thing was to deflate tyres to between 15-18 PSI. The drive was along the beach part of which anybody can go on but our tour took us further along the beach which can only be accessed with a Tour Guide. We had 6 vehicles in the Convoy and almost bogged down a couple of times in the soft sand as Brian would stop every now and then to give us a talk about animals and plants around as well as his ancestors and their life in the early pearling days. As you really need momentum to drive through soft sand at times it was harder to get going. Did some fishing on the way and 3 were caught by the group but not enough for lunch. When I realised that the BT50 has an Electronic rear diff lock it made it much easier as we had a few very bumpy sand hills to climb. Had lunch at Hunters Creek while we waited fir the tide to drop and expose the mud and sand flats to go looking for Mud Crabs. While waiting Brian gave us more of his ancestors stories. Walked around the mud flats and caught 2 crabs but apparently it is now an area that has been over fished. Stopped on the way back for some more fishing with only one being caught. Git back to camp at 3:30pm after a full but very interesting day. Unfortunately not enough fish or crabs to cook for lunch.
